Harum Scarum

Released:Nov. 1, 1965

Even Colonel Parker, not generally known to lose sleep over the issue of artistic integrity, had no faith in Elvis’ third movie release of the year. There was no single, there was no promotion in the Colonel’s view that could sell this picture. In fact, he suggested, maybe the best thing to do would be to “book it fast, get the money, then try again.” Even so, the album sold 300,000 copies.
