Watch The First-Ever Official Music Video For Elvis Presley’s ‘Blue Christmas’

Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will celebrate the 2020 holiday season with the release of the first official music video for Elvis Presley’s “Blue Christmas.”

Playing off the “Blue Christmas” lyrics, the video follows the stories of three characters during the holiday season, and was created by MoSoMoS, a New York animation studio led by Mathew Amonson.

Released in 1957 as a single and is on Elvis’ first Christmas album Elvis’ Christmas Album,“Blue Christmas,” is resonating with a whole new generation of fans. In 2019, Elvis Presley was back on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time since 1981, with “Blue Christmas.”

This holiday season also marks the 63rd anniversary of Elvis’ Christmas Album, the perennial holiday classic album includes Elvis’ signature interpretations of secular and sacred holiday classics, which have become an integral musical component of Christmas round-the-world.  Elvis’ Christmas Album topped the Billboard 200 for four weeks in 1957 and 1958 and has remained a constant chart fixture for years after, selling more than three million copies. A reissue on RCA’s Camden label was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, becoming Elvis’ single bestselling album and the bestselling holiday album of all time.
