From page 8 of the book found in The Complete Elvis Presley Masters, Elvis recording the title song for his first movie Love Me Tender at the "20th- Century Fox’ sound stage, August 24, 1956. Initially there were not going to be any songs in the movie, but the rewriting of the traditional "Aura Lee" hit a soft spot with Elvis, who wanted to prove himself as a ballad singer. The single of "Love Me Tender" was released to staggering advance orders of more than one million copies.
