The Complete Elvis Presley Masters Photo of the Week – Aug 24th
News · Aug. 24, 2010

From page 95 of the book contained in The Complete Elvis Presley Masters Elvis, guitarist Scotty Moore, and drummer Hal Blaine, recording the soundtrack for Blue Hawaii, Radio Recorders, Hollywood, March 1961. The BLUE HAWAII soundtrack album became Elvis' biggest selling LP until the release of ALOHA FROM HAWAII in 1973. The 14-track album includes the worldwide hit single "Can't Help Falling In Love." Ironically, the overwhelming box-office success of Blue Hawaii locked Elvis into a production routine that would spawn three formulaic musicals per year for the next seven years. While lucrative financially, it left no room for Elvis to fulfill his serious-acting ambition or record much non-soundtrack repertoire.
